Dear Friends and Family,
The Women’s National Team has successfully relocated at SUNY Cortland, where we have taken up a full-time residential training program. We have a great core of athletes who have persevered despite many physical, financial and personal hardships. The athletes have one goal in their hearts: to go to the 2008 Olympic Games. To achieve this goal, they must train at the highest level so that they can win at the 2007 Pan American Games and secure an Olympic qualification. It is the duty of US Team Handball and the Women’s National Team staff to make their goal possible. Over the past few years budgetary constraints have made it difficult to support the athletes at the level in which they deserve to be supported. Our staff has been focusing on long term solutions to our financial challenges, but in the short term we are asking for the support of our families and friends to assist us in the upcoming months. Our athletes have taken on the “Never say Die” attitude. Your donation will help them obtain their goal and make them champions, not only in our hearts, but at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. If you know an athlete that is currently training on the National Team, you can make a tax-deductible donation to that athlete. If you do not know any of the athletes, you can make a donation to the Women’s National Team. Any and all assistance is appreciated by our staff and especially by our athletes. Sincerely,
Dawn Lewis
