Several WNT Players Continue with Cortland Club

After the departure of the WNT, the Cortland Team Handball Club is picking up the gauntlet for women's handball in Cortland. And with the folding of the North East Team Handball Conference due to lack of interest, the club was forced to join the Quebec Junior League to find regular competition.

Left Wing, Jennie Choi, Deploys

1st Lt Jennie Choi made the switch from Left Wing to Transportation Officer when she deployed to Iraq in December 2007. Her non-traditional army career earned her a feature in her hometown newspaper, the Santa Clarita Signal. You can read the full article here. Jennie is stationed near the northern city of Mosul, and we hope that comes back to us safely.

Veterans Batar and Messel Retire

The 2007 Pan-American Championships saw the last games of WNT players Edina Batar and Jacque Messel. Two veteran members of the WNT, who were with the team at its 2002 re-genesis at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY are hanging up their shoes after 5 years of service.
